I work with a range of people who show up to counselling with a variety of unique circumstances. What connects them is their desire for compassionate, nonjudgmental, and nonpathologizing support, which is what everyone deserves – including you.
Free Consultation
Scheduling a free 20 minute consultation is a great way to meet with me virtually (by video, audio-only, or phone) and see if I feel like a good fit for you, before scheduling a full counselling session. Some topics I usually discuss during consultations include, although this is flexible based on what you’re looking for:
- What’s brought you to counselling
- What you’re hoping will change in your life through counselling – it’s okay to not totally know the answer to this, we can explore this more together
- A bit about my approach, so you have a sense of what to expect
- What some first steps in counselling might be towards reaching your goals
- Any questions you may have about me or the counselling process
- Next steps if you’re interested in booking a full session – there’s no pressure to make a decision on the spot, you can take as long as you need after the consultation or contact me afterwards with any additional questions you may have.

Fees & Insurance
Fees:
- Standard Fee: $150
- Sliding Scale: starts at $120
This fee is for a one hour counselling session (about 50 minutes). I offer limited sliding scale/reduced fee slots based on your insurance coverage, income level, or lack thereof, to hopefully make counselling more accessible. If this is something you’re interested in, you can contact me or we can discuss this more during a consult.
Insurance:
- Most insurance companies cover psychotherapy/counselling services provided by a registered social worker (RSW) like myself. While I don’t currently offer direct billing, I will send you your session invoice by email, same-day, that you can then submit to your insurance provider.
Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Some questions that may be useful to ask your insurance provider before scheduling a full session include:
- Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
You can also find answers to some frequently asked questions here, or contact me with any questions you may have.
